today is grey

I'm not too sure what it is about grey...i like to wear it when im feeling indecisive, when i cant choose what mood to be or want to fade into the background. therefore grey days make you feel this way, flitting like a butterfly with memory loss from one task to another. Any colour you see is mesmerizing and inanimate objects bring more joy than perhaps they should to your jumbled mind.
This isnt to say that grey days are always terrible. fun times can be had when, every 25 minutes, your perspective changes. Today I made a button bracelet, drew a herring with a top hat, enjoyed a story on a squeaky tape and got lost for a while in the colours of my washing.
however one day is plenty for me.
dear sunshine stop playing hide and seek please.
thank you

the darkest side.

last drink sold, only the mere remains of a pint left abandoned by a cube of turquoise chalk to collect. A mop washes away any signs of footprints worn onto the floor during the evening rush with a citrus hue. lightbulbs snap off, ancient beams creak as the
old building sighs and drifts to sleep. weary feet stumble their way automatically to the car. The engine grumbles to life after an evening left in the rain. Suddenly through the speakers flows a song that paralyses everything as its so beautiful that any noise or movement or action may spoil it. so you sit and watch raindrops courteously waltz in silence down the windscreen, you hold your breath and you listen.

escape-paids from beigetown

i love where I live-dont get me wrong- but working and living in the same place can cause suffocation every now and then. the best remedy is to run away for a few days and disappear into a sea of grey faces. this works in two amazing ways. firstly it inspires you beyond recognition (specially if you go to a few of the galleries in the big smoke or catch up with lost friends by the seaside). and secondly on your return to home, you remember why you love it and how amazingly vibrant and beautiful it really is.
Yes i do love the city sometimes.

if you find yourself in londontown anytime soon then follow the orange lamposts all the way to the tate modern and have a look at the exhibition by Francis Alys
this man is on crazy cat but some of his pieces are incredible.
